Infection Control Training Course - Property Management

The project provides targeted infection control training and support to frontline staffs and managerial staffs in property management, to equip them with up-to-date infection control knowledge, skills, and simulation training opportunities to:

Raise the awareness of staff towards infection control and build confidence within industries.
Enhance the skills and knowledge of frontline staff and apply them in daily work to prevent the spread or outbreaks of the infectious disease in the premise.
Increase the awareness and capabilities of managerial staffs in infection control management and handling infectious disease outbreaks.
Strengthen the industry's resilience and recovery capabilities against infectious disease outbreaks.

Content of Training

(A)Infection Control Training Course

Target: Mainly frontline staff in property management industry

Highlights of Training:

  1. Understand the importance of infection control in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) in property management.
  2. Explore the concepts of hand hygiene and environmental/facility cleaning and disinfection under experiments and situational discussions.
  3. Understand the application of innovative technologies in infection control.

 

3 Modes of Training:

(A1) Face-to-face

Class Size: 5 to 30 participants

Course duration: Approximately 2.5 hours

Speaker: Registered Nurse

Language: Cantonese (with English terminology)

Training Venue: Premises of participating service units

Fee per Class: HKD $3,000

(Discount: For multiple class bookings at the same time, the fee for the second and subsequent classes: HK$2,100 per class)

 

(A2) Real-time Online Mode

  • Platform: Real-time communication software (e.g. Zoom)

Class Size: Minimum of 5 participants

Course Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours

Speaker: Registered Nurse

Language: Cantonese (with English terminology)

Fee per Class: HKD $1,800

(Discount: For multiple class bookings at the same time, the fee for the second and subsequent classes: HK$1,260 per class)

 

 

(A3) Online Mode

  • Platform: Online interactive learning platform, participants can attend at their own schedule

Class Size: Minimum of 5 participants
Course Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours
Language: Cantonese (with English terminology)
Fee per Participant: HKD $80

(Expected to be launched in late 2026)

(B)On-site Visit and Assessment Service

Target: Managerial staff in property management industry

Service Focus:

To assist the property management industry in implementing relevant infection control measures within premises, the program's professional team will conduct on-site assessment and provide support. They will examine areas where staff may have concerns about infection control, such as handwashing facilities in restrooms, and offer practical and effective recommendations for staff at the location.

 

Each session includes three parts:

1. Session 1: On-site assessment at the unit — approximately 1.5 hours
2. Session 2: Photo report or Zoom consultation — approximately 0.5 hours
3. Written action plan report

 

Class Size: 1 to 10 participants (managerial staff)

Speaker: Registered Nurse

Language: Cantonese (with English terminology)

Training Venue: Premises of participating service units

Fee per Class: HKD $3,000

(C)Table Drill on “Infectious Diseases Outbreak Prevention and Management”

Target: Managerial staff in property management industry
  • Simulated scenarios are designed based on potential contact transmission, vector-borne transmission, and other risks that may occur in the property management industry. By engaging in these realistic simulations, property management managerial staff can participate in high-fidelity infection control training. This allows the staff to experience the full implementation process and understand key considerations during actual practice, thereby achieving optimal learning outcomes.

 

2 Modes of Table Drill:

(C1) Face-to-face Mode

Class Size: 1 to 10 participants (managerial staff)

Course duration: Approximately 1.5 hours

Speaker: Registered Nurse

Language: Cantonese (with English terminology)

Training Venue: Premises of participating service units

This activity is an “Official” and “Core” learning activity related to “Professional Practices” under the CPD Scheme of the PMSA. Holders of Property Management Practitioner Licence may earn a maximum of 5 CPD hours upon completion of the activity.

Delivery Mode Arrangement

Face-to-face Mode

  • Participating units must provide a classroom that can accommodate the number of attendees, a projector, and a projection screen. (If unable to provide a projector/screen, please inform the program staff.)

 

Real-time Mode

  • Conducted via Zoom.
  • HKRC staff will provide a unique "Zoom meeting link" and password to the Participated Unit at least 3 days before the Course, and the Participated Unit should distribute the "Zoom meeting link" and details to all attendees prior to the Course.
  • Participants should have access to a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and the latest Zoom application installed.
  • Participants should have basic knowledge of operating the Zoom platform to engage in the Course.
  • During the session:
    • Please log in 5 minutes before the official start time. Participants must log in using their full name in Chinese or English. Example: 陳大文 / Chan Tai Man.
    • Participants must keep their video cameras on and ensure their image is clearly displayed on the screen to facilitate attendance recording.

 

Online Mode

  • Participants will receive an email from HKRC with specific session details on the class start date.
  • Participants must complete the Course within three months, after which the Course link will expire.
  • Participants should have access to a stable internet connection, using computer/laptop, mobile phone, or tablet to access the e-learning platform.
  • Participants should have basic knowledge of operating a computer/tablet/mobile phone to engage in the online Course.

Important Notes

Please read the "Enrollment Information and Terms & Conditions" before registration.

  • Participating units must submit the registration form at least 6 weeks before the course date.
  • Payment must be made at least 7 working days before the course date.
  • After signing the service agreement, if the Participated Unit wishes to request any changes, postponements, or cancellations, they must notify the Hong Kong Red Cross (HKRC) staff by email at least one week before the course start date, stating the reason for the request. Only one change or cancellation request will be accepted. An administrative fee will be charged for all changes or cancellations. For more details, please read the “Enrollment Information and Terms & Conditions”.
  • If a course is cancelled or rescheduled at the request of the applicant unit, the following administrative fees will apply (applicable to both face-to-face and live online modes):
    • Cancellation or rescheduling 4 weeks before the course date: 50% of the course fee for administrative fee should be paid
    • Cancellation or rescheduling 2 weeks before the course date: 100% of the course fee for administrative fee should be paid
  • Discounted prices for enrolling in multiple individual or full-package courses apply only under the following conditions:
    • Discounts are only valid for registrations processed within the same order. Separate transactions are not eligible for second or subsequent course discounts.
    • Discounts apply only to courses of the same type, regardless of delivery mode. For example, enrolling in the Table Drill on “Infectious Diseases Outbreak Prevention and Management” (Face-to-face Mode) qualifies for a discount on the same course in Real-time Online Mode. However, enrolling in a different course type, such as the “Infection Control Training Course,” does not qualify.
    • Enrolling in any Full Course Package qualifies for second or subsequent course discounts for both individual training sessions and full packages. However, enrolling in individual training sessions alone does not qualify for full-package discounts.
  • Our organization reserves the final right of decision on all course pricing and discounts.

Become Infection Control Shielders

Eligibility: 

Participating units must complete (1) Infection Control Training Course, (2) Table Drill on "Infectious Diseases Outbreak Prevention and Management", and (3) On-site Visit and Assessment Service 1 & 2.

Becoming a Shielder signifies that the participating unit has joined our Infection Control Alliance, taking on the role of an "Infection Control Team" to combat infectious diseases. We will work together with the project ambassador “Shieldy” to maintain community health.

After finishing mentioned training and service, the participating unit will:

  • Be automatically enrolled, no additional application required
  • Receive a “Shield Mark” certificate issued by this project
  • Be invited to display the “Shield Mark” at the premises; Display the “Shield Mark” on the unit's website (if applicable)
