Jockey Club Infection Control Training and Support Project

After experiencing 3 years of the COVID-19 pandemic, people from all walks of life in Hong Kong have been affected to various degrees. To better prepare for the impact of the next wave of infectious disease outbreak, it is particularly important to enhance the understanding and attention of different industries to the importance of infection control, as well as to improve their infection prevention abilities and response capabilities. 

 

Thanks to the donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Hong Kong Red Cross is launching a 5-year "Jockey Club Infection Control Training and Support Project" from June 2023. The project aims to enhance the infection control capabilities of five most impacted sectors, namely the social service sector, education sector, catering, hotel, and property management industries, thereby reducing the spread of infectious diseases and protecting the health of Hong Kong citizens. 

Project Objective

Raise the awareness of infection control and build confidence within industries.
Enhance the skills and knowledge of frontline employees in implementing infection control and prevention measures.
Increase the awareness and capabilities of managerial staffs in infection control management and handling infectious disease outbreaks.
Strengthen the industry's resilience and recovery capabilities against infectious disease outbreaks.

3. Infection Control Promotion Campaign

Upon completion of the training and services, participating units will be accredited by receiving a Shield Mark and be awarded a certificate issued by this project. They will also be invited to display the “Shield Mark” within their premises and on their website (if applicable).
